LeadingAge Georgia (formerly Aging Services of Georgia) is the nonprofit association that represents the key providers of not-for-profit and other mission-driven, quality-focused organizations dedicated to providing services that people need, when they need them, in the places they call home. Our members offer the full array of aging services in Georgia: adult day services, home & community-based services, senior retirement housing, assisted living communities, continuing care retirement communities, nursing homes and hospice care. These providers are committed to advancing the vision of healthy, affordable and ethical long-term care for older Georgians.
The LeadingAge Georgia philosophy, summarized by the phrase "Communities that Care", is based on a commitment to care for the total person. Our members demonstrate a concern for the social, spiritual, environmental and health needs of the older person entrusted to their care. We recognize that long-term care housing and community services should be tailored to individual needs. Association members are dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for older adults by placing the needs of the individuals served above all else.
LeadingAge Georgia is the state partner of LeadingAge (formerly AAHSA), an association of 6,000 not-for-profit organizations dedicated to expanding the world of possibilities for aging. Together, we advance policies, promote practices and conduct research that supports, enables and empowers people to live fully as they age.
Our membership represents over 150 housing and service providers, of which 65 percent are faith-based communities. They proudly embrace the full array of aging services by serving over 128,000 residents and clients in Georgia! Approximately 4,500 compassionate, caring, and well trained staff serve these older Georgians.
