Wesley Woods currently has an exceptional opportunity for a Director of Wellness and Life Enrichment working at the Corporate Office in Atlanta.

POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the general supervision of the President and CEO, the Director of Wellness & Life Enrichment is responsible for the management of a system wide wellness and life enrichment program providing a consistent base of services across the organization that meets annual performance metrics.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Wellness Programming and Life Enrichment Activities
Lead the Life Enrichment Quality Team to manage an innovative evidence based wellness program that engages the seven dimensions of wellness in a consistent manner across the organization.

Develop, analyze and manage annual performance metrics of the program. Identify short and long term goals for the wellness program for the organization.

Support the work of the Foundation of Wesley Woods to obtain grants to fund the program. Maintain and provide data and other reports to demonstrate program efficacy. Provides presentations to funders.

Working with Marketing, encourage and promote participation in the Wellness programming through the development of an annual marketing plan. Develop materials and identifies resources including publications and other marketing collateral to encourage participation.

Provide support, education and supervision related to program provision and wellness specific tasks to team members. Provide performance feedback to Life Enrichment Directors /Coordinators and their supervisors.

Maintains a current understanding of health and wellness principles and exhibits ongoing professional curiosity to identify and initiate innovative programming when possible.

Oversees and contributes to the production of newsletter material, proposals, presentations and other communications materials.
Works with local team members within the Activities department, Culinary, Marketing and Social Services as needed to cultivate and enhance resident participation and experience in the wellness program.

Assists in the cultivation of relationships, particularly in the United Methodist Church, schools, health centers and hospitals in order to identify local resources to augment the program.

Team Leadership
Provides overall leadership of the Life Enrichment | Wellness quality team in meeting the organizations strategic goals.

Maintains effective working relationship with team members, Administrators / Executive Directors and volunteers.

Ensures that effective processes and procedures are developed and maintained which promote a good working relationship between staff and the volunteer leadership.

Provides fiscal leadership and oversight for the program. Prepares the annual reporting on performance metrics.

Displays professional curiosity; maintaining knowledge of current developments in wellness, life enrichment and healthy living programs. Identify’s evidence based indicators and measures important to the success of the program.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree, preferably in nursing, recreation therapy, public health or other human service degree applicable to the position.

2-5 years experience working in a senior adult or wellness program specific program

The preferred candidate would have good transportation for visiting Communities in Georgia only. Mileage is paid for by the company at the Federal Rate.

KNOWLEDGES, SKILLS, ABILITIES:
Knowledge of basic computer skills in order to obtain and analyze participant data.
Knowledge of evidence based programming and/or geriatric wellness initiatives
Ability to direct a cohesive program across a broad area with minimal supervision.
Ability to communicate effectively in writing and make exceptional oral presentations.
