Education and Events Manager

Position Summary:
The Education and Events Manager will play a pivotal role in advancing the mission of the Georgia Institute on Aging (GIA), the education arm of LeadingAge Georgia. This position ensures high-quality educational programming and professional development opportunities while fostering engagement with business members to drive value and growth for the organization. The role also involves planning and executing major events,including a fundraiser, a golf tournament, an annual conference, and multiple continuing education training events throughout the year. Some travel is required to support events and member engagement activities.

Key Responsibilities

Educational Programs and Events
• Design and implement education programs that align with the needs of LeadingAge Georgia members.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to identify relevant topics, secure speakers, and organize event logistics.
• Oversee Continuing Education Unit (CEU) accreditation for all programs.
• Lead the planning and execution of the annual conference, ensuring high-quality programming and seamless logistics.

Development Events and Fundraising
• Plan and execute development events, including a golf tournament and other fundraisers, to support the financial goals of the organization.
• Develop sponsorship opportunities and maintain relationships with donors and sponsors.

Business Member Recruitment and Engagement
• Develop and execute strategies to recruit and retain business members.
• Foster relationships with business members, ensuring they receive value from their engagement with LeadingAge Georgia.

Budgeting and Financial Management
• Work with the President to prepare and manage budgets for educational and development events.
• Ensure events meet or exceed net income goals; if deficits occur, create recovery plans.

Marketing and Communications
• Support marketing strategies to promote educational and development events.

Volunteer Engagement
• Recruit and manage volunteers to assist in delivering successful programs and events.

Qualifications

Education and Experience
• Bachelor’s degree preferred, 3+ years of experience in program development, event management, or member engagement, preferably in a non-profit or educational organization.

Skills and Competencies
• Strong leadership and project management skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proven ability to manage budgets and meet financial goals.
• Proficiency in marketing, including digital and social media strategies.
• Familiarity with CEU processes is a plus.
