The retirement communities of Briarcliff Oaks and Clairmont Oaks have an immediate need for a qualified Executive Director. Founded in 1975, the communities provide affordable housing for older adults in metro Atlanta. Briarcliff Oaks and Clairmont Oaks are a nonprofit, affordable housing and services ministry of First Baptist Church Decatur, Georgia, promoting successful aging in caring communities. The two properties are comprised of 421 apartments with a combined annual budget of over $5.5 million. The Executive Director oversees the two properties, and an administrator at each community reports directly to the Executive Director. The administrators supervise a combined staff of approximately 25. The Executive Director reports to the Boards of Directors of Briarcliff Oaks and Clairmont Oaks.
The Executive Director is responsible for leading Briarcliff Oaks and Clairmont Oaks to serve low-income seniors. Primary objectives are to promote safe and secure housing, foster a caring environment in which residents and employees grow and thrive, and ensure efficient, quality professional services on behalf of residents and employees. The Executive Director oversees all aspects of the communities’ operations including financial management and fundraising; compliance with regulations and agreements of the US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD); staff development; resident relations; physical property management.
Qualified candidates should have a minimum of 5 years management experience in a similar environment. A college degree is preferred. Salary and benefits and competitive and commensurate with experience. An allowance may be given for relocation expenses for the right candidate.
